What the chart shows

The 7D, 30D and 1Y controls show the official daily water-level observations from the Bureau of Reclamation. The latest figure and the charts come from the same series. All heights use NGVD29, the conventional Lake Powell reference.

How often is the water level reported?

The Bureau of Reclamation publishes daily reservoir water levels. New records may appear later than high-frequency lake monitoring, so check the observation date rather than assuming the figure represents this minute.

Changes over a day or week may reflect inflows, dam releases and measurement precision. A rising lake level does not necessarily imply improving long-term storage conditions.
